Vehicle Rental Insurance

Liability And Collision Coverage

Purpose:
To establish guidelines regarding the purchase of automobile liability insurance from an auto rental company.

Scope:
This policy applies to all employees of FINITE TECHNOLOGIES, INC.

Policy:
It is the policy of this organization that when renting a vehicle to use on company business the employee will purchase insurance from the vehicle rental company. Select yes on the rental form to ensure coverage for primary liability coverage for bodily injury and property damage, and also to provide physical damage (collision and comprehensive) coverage when renting the vehicle.

All employees renting a vehicle must purchase Primary Liability and Loss Damage Waiver insurance unless specifically advised that it is not necessary by a representative of our Risk Management department.

All employees renting vehicles outside of the U.S. while on company business must elect primary liability and the Loss Damage Waiver (LDW).

NOTE: Do not use a car rental company that does not offer primary liability coverage.

Employees that engage in prohibited uses (as outlined in the rental agreement) while driving a rental car will also become personally liable in the event of an accident.
